Human Resource Management - Job Posting for All Benefits-Eligible Positions
Policy and Procedure
PURPOSE: To detail the job posting requirements for all benefits
eligible openings as outlined by the Office of Affirmative Action and Diversity
SCOPE: All on-going, University budgeted and grant-funded positions
POLICY:
Administrative Professional and Office Support, Technical, Trades and Crafts
1. Each position vacancy shall be posted internally for ten calendar days to solicit applications from internal candidates only. During this period, only full- or part-time benefits-eligible employees may be formally considered for the posted position. If a qualified internal candidate is hired at the end of this ten-day period, no further posting or outreach is required.
2. If an internal candidate is not hired at the end of the ten-day internal posting period, the position will continue to be posted and an external search will be conducted in accordance with the Office of Affirmative Action and Diversity requirements. After the internal posting period, all Administrative Professional positions must be posted externally for a minimum of an additional twenty days.
3. If a position's requirements suggest the need for an immediate external search, a waiver of the internal posting period may be sought through the Office of Affirmative Action and Diversity.
4. The Office of Affirmative Action and Diversity staff reviews requests for waivers on a case-by-case basis. Approval is closely monitored to encourage recruitment of a diverse pool of qualified applicants for every open position at the University.
Faculty
2. Part-Time Faculty (Non-Benefits-Eligible): The position shall be posted for a minimum of 30 calendar days. All applications shall be held and considered against appropriate vacancies.
