The Benjamin A. Gilman International Scholarship Program offers competitive grants for U.S. undergraduate students of limited financial means to pursue academic studies or credit-bearing, career-oriented internships abroad, especially in countries outside Western Europe, Australia, and New Zealand.

Service-learning courses and Northeastern’s co-op program have fueled Jessica’s desire to serve as an advocate for marginalized populations. She has worked as a service-learning teaching assistant and a recruitment coordinator at the Big Sister Association of Greater Boston. Since her first semester as a freshman, Jessica has been a volunteer with Strong Women, Strong Girls, a nonprofit mentoring organization that fosters leadership skills, a sense of female community, and a commitment to service. She is currently studying abroad in Ghana.
