Award Recipient

emmaCharith Peris, doctoral candidate in physics
This Northeastern doctoral student holds a predoctoral fellowship at the Harvard-Smithsonian Center for Astrophysics, one of the largest and most diverse astrophysical institutions in the world. Charith successfully applied what he learned at Northeastern in cutting-edge research on black hole and neutron star X-ray binaries. He established strong collaborations with leading scientists across three institutions: Northeastern, the Harvard-Smithsonian, and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. A mentor and collaborator from MIT says, “Charith functions as a peer among mature scientists at Harvard and MIT. His research accomplishments reflect his dedication and relentless drive to solve scientific problems and achieve self-consistent interpretations.”
