Graduate Community Service Awards
The Outstanding Graduate Student Awards for significant accomplishments in community service are presented annually by the Graduate Student Council (GSG) and the Office of the Provost.
Sarah Brown, doctoral candidate in electrical and computer engineering
Sarah, an NSF and Draper fellow, has made significant contributions not only to Northeastern, but also to our surrounding communities. As the National Society of Black Engineers National Academic Excellence Chair, she helped lead the effort to enhance academic performance of members across all national chapters. Sarah became the founding chair of the Student Research Engagement Committee to support the development of outreach efforts for undergraduate student research through workshops, panels, and faculty research lab fairs. Sarah is the epitome of a well-rounded Northeastern scholar with an unyielding commitment to better our communities.
