Pan Asian American Council
Members of the Pan Asian American Council are selected to serve because they have been identified as individuals who are capable of speaking critically and reflectively about issues that concern the affinity group (ethnic-based, gender-based, sexuality-based, etc.) with which they identify. As such, it is a requirement that the Council be comprised of individuals that create the greatest level of diversity and interest possible. This not only speaks to different Asian American ethnic groups, but also other layers of identity involving socio-economic status, sexuality, gender, career interests, graduating class status, immigrant status, and student group affiliations. Two at-large members are selected by the Director to serve as representatives for the Asian American student community in general. In addition, there will be two representatives, selected by their respective student groups, to provide a voice for the following organizations:
Asian Student Union (ASU) Barkada (Filipino/a student group) Vietnamese Student Association UTSAV (South Asian student group) Kappa Phi Lambda (pan Asian American sorority) Pi Delta Psi (pan Asian American fraternity) Korean American Student Association
